CAD Drafter

Transforms initial rough draft mechanical product designs using 2D CAD and 3D parametric modeling software into working documents. Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Requirements:Associate degree in Design or a related field with course work in computer-aided design or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; or 1 to 2 years’ experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

   

CDL Truck Driver / Material Handler

MUST BE A LICENSED CDL DRIVER
Delivers customer parts, as required. May have occasional overnight deliveries. Driving records must be maintained, along with all DOT requirements. Remainder of time is spent assisting with warehouse duties: Works under limited supervision picks up and delivers supplies, materials, equipment and other goods to and from shop areas. Receives and moves freight, checks and reports damaged or defective materials. Prepares freight for shipment according to shipping policies and procedures. Performs a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing and shipping general or specialized materials and equipment. Verifies shipments, identifies and matches materials, by name, code, size and etc., stores, stacks and palletizes materials. Actively provides support for material requests, fulfills job orders and customer orders.

   

CNC / EDM Machinists

CNC and EDM Machinists set up, program, edit and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines such as lathes, milling machines, and/or EDM (electrical discharge machine) to produce precision metal parts. Need knowledge of the working properties of metals and skills with machine tools to plan and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise customer specifications according to drawings/blueprints. Individual must employ a high degree of accuracy and precision in performing work, with ability to monitor and edit CNC programming, as required.

All levels of CNC Operators to Experienced CNC Machinists needed. (2 years minimum experience required.)

   
Electronics Technician

Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems: Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal and/or written instructions regarding duties to be performed. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device. Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets.
Confers with engineers, customers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of electrical/electronic theory.
  • Basic electrical/electronic trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment, multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to perform calibration of electronic equipment.

Requirements:

  • 2 or 4-year degree in the field of Electronics and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
   
Grinding Operators

Sets up and operates grinding machines (blancher, Okamoto, and surface) to grind external and internal flat or contoured surfaces of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces of various alloys. Reads from blueprints and/or job travelers product specifications for dimensions, tolerances and number of parts to be ground and tooling instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use all machine shop tools, including computer console/computer-controlled machines.
  • Ability to apply standard machine practices and the ability to use integrated math (Algebra, geometry, trigonometry) to establish machine setups and execute part designs.
  • Ability to monitor gauges, dials and other indicator to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Working knowledge of diverse materials and basic understanding of metallurgy.
   
Janitor

Keeps buildings in clean and orderly condition.  Performs light to heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors and removing rubbish.  Duties may also include assisting kitchen staff with meal preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push or carry objects.
   
Laser Operator

Performs laser machine set-ups, maintains laser machines, and cuts/trims a diversity of alloys and components.  Reads production sheets and/or job travelers to determine specified operations. Performs routine semi-skilled assignments either as a project team member or independently following detailed work instructions or clearly defined work procedures.  Operations performed may be routine and repetitive in nature and once learned can be carried on without difficulty and only under general supervision

Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and read mechanical drawings / blueprints.
  • Have current knowledge of metal fabrication in accordance with processes of laser cutting.
  • Knowledge of handling and reading measuring equipment (calipers and mics).
  • Standard math skills.
  • Ability to setup and operate laser to achieve optimal machine performance.
  • Ability to maintain equipment to ensure proper operation.
   
Machinist - Experienced

Set up and operate mechanically controlled machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools. Will be fabricating wide variety of metal products to customer specifications through the operation of lathes, milling machines, grinders, & other similar equipment.

Experienced Machinist Qualifications

  • Must have ability to read blueprints/layouts and ability to apply shop mathematics for calculations of dimensions and tight tolerances.
  • Must have ability to use inspection tools to measure and examine completed parts to ensure product quality is met.

Requirements: Must have own tools. Technical degree in Machine Technology or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience and/or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.

   
Maintenance Technician

Responsible for administering maintenance, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing machinery and mechanical equipment, including manual & CNC lathes/mills, waterjet, sheet lasers, tube lasers, air compressors, forklifts, media blasting equipment, EDM machines, chillers, dust collectors, powder coating line, paint booth, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, distilling equipment, any and all equipment associated with the manufacturing process as well as preventive maintenance.

Qualifications: 3 or more years of experience in industrial mechanical/electrical and/or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.

   
Material Handler

Works under limited supervision; picks up and delivers supplies, materials, equipment and other goods to and from shop areas.  Receives and moves freight, checks and reports damaged or defective materials.  Prepares basic forms and freight bills including determining freight and shipping charges. Performs a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing and shipping general or specialized materials and equipment.  Verifies shipments, identifies and matches materials, by name, code, size and etc., stores, stacks and palletizes materials.  Actively provides support for material requests, fulfills job orders and customer orders. 

  • Ability to run, maneuver, navigate or drive vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts, dollies and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable of use of arms, legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
  • Knowledge of safe forklift operations and lifting methods and techniques.
Forklift experience, a plus.
   
Mechanical Assembly Technician

Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble and disassemble mechanical components, subassemblies, products, or systems: Reads blueprints, work orders, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures or receives verbal and/or written instructions regarding duties to be performed. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device. Dismantles machines using appropriate hand tools. Assembles and installs equipment using appropriate hand or power tools.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to learn assembling products.
  • High school diploma (preferred) or GED.  Two years of relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
   
Powder Coat & Wet Paint Operators

These positions are responsible for properly coating small to large parts of different metal substrates to various customer required powder coat or paint specifications. Operators prep parts for paint, including media blasting; and handle, hang, and package parts on/off the line.
Job requires standing on your feet and lifting parts, some above your head. Good communication & teamwork skills are necessary, must be able to follow instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Manual dexterity.
  • Experience with industrial painting and powder coating, preferred.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing/production facility, desired.
  • Ability to read and understand paint specifications.
   
Press Brake Operator

Sets up and operates CNC press brake machine to bend, form, notch, punch, arc or straighten metal or structural shapes as specified by job travelers, blueprints, drawings, templates or layouts. Must be able to read blueprints/layouts, CAD and CAM files, and have good knowledge of shop mathematics for calculations of dimensions & tolerances. Will be fabricating a wide variety of metal products to customer specifications

Requirements: Previous press brake experience – set up experience a plus

   
Purchasing Agent

Independently performs complex purchasing responsibilities for a variety of metals, materials, tooling, supplies, services and equipment. Experience with SupplyPoint Inventory Manangement System a plus.

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Basic business math required.
  • Monitoring and managing inventory supply system.
  • Preparing and processing of purchase orders.

Requirements: Experience in a manufacturing or metals industry needed.
Associate degree preferred with minimum of 3 plus years’ experience.

   
Sales Project Manager

The primary goal of the Sales Project Manager is to aid Sales and Production Control team members to ensure the successful completion of project-based sales orders. The Sales Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the flow of documents, information, and materials between departments within ASPI and with the customer to ensure that project delivery, documentation, quality, and technical requirements are met.
Qualifications:

  • Project management skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing concepts and terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic industrial concepts and terminology.
  • Ability to read and understanding technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with material concepts and terminology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or five to eight years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
   
Technical Sales Representative

The Technical Sales Representative will work with Sales Project Managers and Sales Managers, along with Production Control and Sales team members, as required, to develop a thorough understanding of customer job requirements, ensuring that project objectives are met, sales orders are properly processed for all job components, and ensure that all project material, delivery, quality, and technical requirements are clearly documented.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to interface with customers to help resolve common technical problems and questions.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison between the customer, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Management.
  • Ability to read and understanding technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing concepts and terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic industrial concepts and terminology.
  • Solid math foundation, including working with fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related discipline, desired.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired.
   
Welder

Utilizes oxy-acetylene torch cutting and welding processes (including Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, and Pulse Gas Metal Arc Welding), and welds a wide variety of metals and their alloys in fabrication and repair of metal structures, intricate parts, equipment, and other items in accordance with customer specifications. Skilled, as a fit-up welder, in the use of MIG, TIG, & standard welding equipment.

Experience and/or certification in steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum. Must be able to read prints, including welding symbols. Knowledge of the standard tools, materials, & techniques of the welding trade, along with quality tools to measure and examine completed parts to ensure product quality is met.

TIG Aluminum
 experience a high plus.
