ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN
Job Summary for Electronics Technician:
Assembles electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal and/or written instructions regarding duties to be performed. Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets.
Education and/or Experience of Electronics Technician:
- 2 or 4-year degree in the field of Electronics and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications of Electronics Technician:
- Ability to distinguish electronic components and read resistor color codes.
- Basic soldering training
- Experience in printed circuit board assembly.
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic theory.
- Basic electrical/electronic trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to use electronic test equipment, multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to perform calibration of electronic equipment.
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of National Electric Code.
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
- Solid math foundation.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Technical Certificate in Electronics Technology. (Desirable)
Physical Demands:
- The employee may be required to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
