PRODUCTION CONTROL CLERK

Job Summary for Production Control Clerk:
The primary goal of the Production Control Clerk is to aid the Sales and Production Control team members to ensure the successful transfer of sales orders to jobs for manufacture. The Production Control Clerk is responsible for coordinating the flow of documents and information between departments to ensure that sales order delivery (product), documentation, quality, and technical requirements necessary for product manufacturing are met.

Education and/or Experience:
  • A high-school diploma or GED is required.
  • A college degree with a focus in manufacturing or business is a plus, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with an ERP system is desired.
  • Experience working with bills of material is desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter PO requests, review part numbers and alloy codes for accuracy, and manage stock levels by generating minimum reports and ordering materials as needed. Handle returns, repairs, and in-process change orders.
  • Maintain part numbers in the ERP system, manage low-level product revisions, and handle small-scale Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). Support job entry and assist with product revisions as required.
  • Review production job requests, determine optimal production quantities and routes, and enter jobs into the ERP system. Ensure coordination with Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering for job requirements and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with CAD, Sales, and Engineering to create accurate technical drawings, new part numbers, and bills of material for new parts or revisions.
  • Resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and ensure materials are linked to jobs. Communicate updates with Purchasing, Sales, and Production to ensure timely job execution.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate clearly.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in tasks and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Solid understanding of basic manufacturing and industrial concepts, including electrical systems, coatings, and piping.
  • Knowledge of company business operations, policies, and procedures, with an understanding of material concepts and terminology.
