Using laser cladding, Alabama Laser is
able to repair damaged tooling and molds. One such example is the
tooling on the metal folding machine (shown at
right).
A powder clad was added to the damaged tool and then machined back
to a smooth surface.
The cladding process not only repaired the damaged areas of the
tool, but also provided increased material hardness and greater wear
resistance.
