Our new TruLaser Tube 7000 fiber laser tube cutting system features additional machining processes such as flow drilling and tapping which are integrated into the system.

This allows for multiple operations to be done on one machine without having to send the part to a secondary machine shop operation.

Flow drilling can be used on thin wall tube (up to .120”) where threaded holes are needed. The flow drill process builds up mass at the hole, and then hard tooling performs the threading operation.

Another application would be on projects where threaded inserts are added to the cut holes. Instead of having to weld or install these in place, the threaded holes can be processed on the tube laser in one machine operation cycle. This eliminates having to install inserts and the possibility of the insert spinning due to improper installation.
