PART-TIME FOOD PREP / COOK
Food Prep / Cook Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor, prepares, cooks and dispenses food for the company workforce. Prepares and serves varied and nutritious meals. Cleans equipment, dishes, pots and pans.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma (preferred) or GED. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability in preparation and serving of large quantities of food.
Compensation commensurate with education/experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and cooks a variety of foods including breads, pastries, meats, seafood, vegetables, and other dishes using various methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and frying.
- Follows recipes or uses personal judgment to season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately.
- Prepares ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting fruits and vegetables, and trimming or carving meats for serving.
- Arranges and garnishes finished dishes for attractive presentation.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and general housekeeping.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles of food preparation and nutrition.
- Ability to use all kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Ability to monitor, dials and other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly.
