CLEAN & PACK SUPERVISOR

Job description for Clean & Pack Supervisor:
Supervises the Clean & Pack department, including organizing work to meet daily production goals with zero errors or deficiencies. Ensures strict adherence to all standard operating procedures and safety precautions. This role is responsible for evaluating, scheduling, and overseeing the day-to-day activities and training of Clean & Pack Technicians. Prioritizes departmental workload and performs other related duties as reasonably assigned.

Experience/Education Required
:
  • HS Diploma or GED. Associates degree or equivalent in an appropriate related field (desired). Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires previous experience in supervisory role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates Clean & Pack and Pre-Weigh personnel, ensuring compliance with safety standards, operating procedures, and company policies.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and oversees daily departmental workload, including scheduling, overtime requests, and coordination with management and the Safety Manager.
  • Manages employee performance, counseling, and documentation while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
  • Oversees cleaning, passivation, assembly, labeling, and packaging of products to meet Metal Samples specifications and customer requirements.
  • Ensures proper handling, use, and disposal of chemicals and materials; maintains equipment, tanks, and bead room operations.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, including packing slips, MTRs, Excel files, weight logs, and timely communication of required data to customers.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders (job travelers) and follow written instructions accurately.
  • Knowledge of packaging methods, including fan wrapping and bulk wrapping.
  • Understanding of sales orders, production jobs, and quality systems and procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in using a desktop computer.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to work in hands-on environments and perform tasks that may involve getting dirty.
