Robert Ray Schultz
February 19, 1943 to September 15, 1999
GULFPORT – Robert “Bobby” Schultz, retired Capt., Gulfport Police
department, age 56, died Thursday, September 23, 1999 in Gulfport.
Capt. Schultz was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport and was a
member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. He joined the Gulfport Police
Department November 28, 1972, and retired after 25 years as a shift
captain. He was a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA, in
the class of 1990, 161st session. He was the recipient of
numerous commendations and an Officer of the Year Award.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Doris Schultz and a
brother, Jerry Schultz.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Schultz; three sons, Michael Schultz, Alan
Schultz, and Kevin Schulz; and a brother, Larry Schultz, all of Gulfport.
Also surviving are his mother-in-law and father-in-law Martha and Frank
Edmonson; nephews and nieces, Joey Schultz, Bobby Schultz, Charles Randall
Schultz, Cindy Billingsley, Frank Edmondson III, Jeff Edmondson, Brad
Edmondson, Adam Dodd, Nick Dodd, Lance Dodd, Trevor Dodd, Ben Bowles, and
Brett Bowles, sisters-in-law Becky Childers, Joyce Schultz, Teena Dodd,
Susan Edmondson, Liz Edmondson; and brothers-in-law, Frank Edmondson Jr.,
Mike Dodd, and R. J. Childers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight (Friday) at the Riemann Funeral
Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. The funeral will be at 1:30
p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial in
Evergreen Gardens with full Gulfport Policy Dept. honors.
