Mary Anne Barkley is my father's wife (we don't use the "step"
word in our family) and I am very proud to submit this update.

After Hurricane Katrina, Jare and Mary Anne relocated to Nicevlle, Florida, close to her daughter Julie (husband Chris) and their 2 children, Jack and Reed.
Mary Anne has become a well known water colorist and muralist on the Mississippi Gulf
Coast and has produced many paintings, murals on tile, and greeting cards. Her husband,
Jare (pronounced "Jah-ray), is a retired general surgeon and prior to Katrina, they
enjoyed working in the yard (Mary Anne is a Master Gardener), going to church, visiting
with family and friends. Jare is still an active golf enthusiast who has 4 holes in one to
his credit.
A native of Gulfport, Mississippi, Mary Anne hopes one day to return to her home town. She
was very active in the community and spear headed the preservation of Jones Park in
Gulfport. She was also very active in the Methodist Church, where she has been a member
for over 50 years. Mary Anne enjoyed teaching art classes and served as a wedding
planner/coordinator for many happily married couples.
