“After all is said and done, we will have said and done it all together.”
My husband went to Heaven yesterday evening. Our story began over sixty years ago when we first met on a blind date. He was a handsome 17-year-old and I was a shy 15. His fun-loving personality and joy of living won me over. The memories are many, some funny and some sweet, but the most indelible memories are when our babies were born...how excited and protective he was of each one. They (Elizabeth, Lara, Mariha, and Beau) and our grandchildren remain our most valuable legacy.
We are honoring Harvey's final wishes to say farewell to him privately, rather than with a public funeral. We hope that you will remember him in your own private way, recalling a memory that captures his fun- loving personality.
As for me, I plan on seeing Harvey again. He will be whole and well and feel good, as he did when first we met. I am looking forward to that day.
I hope you will forgive me for not calling you personally. Harvey had so many loving friends and family members that the task was more than I could emotionally bear. Please know that Harvey and I love you all.
A private graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Herrin family.
