Elizabeth Ann Hamilton Embry
June 18, 1943 to November 4, 2001

GULFPORT – Sunday, November 4, 2001, Elizabeth Ann Embry left for her much anticipated journey to meet her heavenly Father.  She fought a very lengthy battle against juvenile diabetes and all its complications.  She won at age fifty-eight.

Her life centered around her family, friends and fellow church members.  At Gulfhaven Mennonite Church she was active in the study of God’s word.  She sang for the glory of her Lord and shared knowledge and wisdom of his promises.  Her witness stands as one of love for the Lord and neither pain nor sickness could stop her from caring for all those around her.

Life began for Ann in Pascagoula, MS June 18, 1943.  With her mother, father and brother, they moved to Gulfport in the year 1959.  After graduating from Gulfport High School in 1961, she attended Perkinston Junior College.

She set aside working outside the home to dedicate her life to her children, her husband and her church.  She loved raising horses and was active in other outside activities.

Preceding her in death were her little sister, Angela Louise Hamilton; her brother, Robert “Cooper” Hamilton and her grandparents, Thomas V. Flynt and Gertrude Elizabeth Flynt of Agricola, MS and Callie Rushing of Pascagoula, MS.

Survivors include her husband Thomas Joel Embry, Sr.; her son, Thomas Joel Embry, Jr., of Gulfport; her daughter, Terri Embry Stolar, of Pasadena, Maryland; three grandchildren:  Tara Elizabeth Ross, Cody Thomas Stolar and Joelle Brooke Embry.  She had many adopted grandchildren whom she thought of as her own.  Her parents, Robert Ray Hamilton and Alice Elaine Hamilton of Gulfport, survive her and will dearly miss her precious smile and kind words.

Visitation, funeral and graveside services will be held at the  Gulfhaven Mennonite Church in Gulfport at 21497 Mennonite Road.  Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning two hours prior to services.

The family prefers memorials be shared with Gideon’s International.  Ann wishes God’s written word would be spread by contributions to the Bible Fund.

Funeral home in charge of services:  Riemann Funeral Home, US 49 North in Gulfport.
