Lonnie “Tally” Cumberland
February 15, 1943 to February 2, 1987
Biloxi – Lonnie “Tally” Cumberland, 43, 1149 North Bend Drive, Biloxi, died
Monday, Feb. 2, 1987, in Biloxi.
Mr. Cumberland, a native of Meridian, retired as a master sergeant from the
Air Force after 22˝ years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and
Vietnam War. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter
#5 and Veterans of Foreign Wars #2539, both of Gulfport. He was an active
member of Bay Breeze Golf Course and captain of Dart Vaders Dart Team of
Mississippi Gulf Coast Dart Association. Mr. Cumberland was preceded in
death by his father, Alex B. Cumberland.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Yong Cumberland; a son, Lonnie Cumberland
Jr., both of Biloxi; a daughter, Mrs. Stephanie Scott; his mother Mrs. Leola
Bourree; his step-father, Felix Bourree; a brother, Duke Cumberland, all of
Gulfport; three sisters, Mrs. Burla Seger of North Brunswick, N. J., Mrs.
Toni Redding of Horn Lake and Mrs. Jeannie Livings of Long Beach; and two
grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 until 10 at Riemann Memorial Funeral
Home, Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The funeral will be at 12 noon Thursday at the
funeral home chapel, followed by burial in Biloxi national Cemetery with
full military honors. |
